2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: - Provide and maintain the LangVibe service - Match you with language partners based on your language preferences - Display your profile to other users for language exchange purposes - Send notifications about session updates and community activity - Calculate trust scores and maintain community safety - Improve and optimize the Service
3. Firebase and Third-Party Services
LangVibe uses Google Firebase for authentication, data storage, and real-time features. Your data is processed and stored on Firebase infrastructure in accordance with Google's data processing terms. We may use additional third-party services for analytics and performance monitoring. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
4. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including: - Secure authentication through Google Sign-In - Firebase Security Rules to control data access - Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS/TLS - Access controls limiting data access to authorized purposes While we strive to protect your information, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.
5. Cookies and Local Storage
LangVibe uses cookies and browser local storage for: - Authentication session management - Language preference storage (NEXT_LOCALE cookie) - Theme preference (dark/light mode) - Service functionality and performance These are essential cookies required for the Service to function. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
6. WebRTC and Video Communications
Video calls on LangVibe use WebRTC technology for peer-to-peer connections. During video calls: - Audio and video streams are transmitted directly between users (P2P) and are not recorded or stored by us - Signaling data (connection setup information) passes through our Firebase Realtime Database temporarily and is deleted after the call - Ephemeral chat messages are transmitted via WebRTC DataChannel directly between users and are never stored on our servers - ICE candidates and STUN server data are used solely for establishing connections
7. Your Rights
You have the right to: - Access your personal information stored in the Service - Update or correct your profile information at any time - Request deletion of your account and associated data - Export your data by contacting us - Withdraw consent for optional data processing To exercise these rights, contact our Chief Privacy Officer at support@laonda.io.
8. Children's Privacy
LangVibe is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete that information promptly. 9. International Data Transfers
Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including the Republic of Korea and the United States (where Firebase infrastructure is located). By using the Service, you consent to these transfers. We ensure that appropriate safeguards are in place to protect your information in accordance with applicable data protection laws.
